PE and Sport
Physical education develops a child’s knowledge, skills and understanding which can be applied to a range of activities as well as PE. Developing skills in PE is essential to children’s learning. PE not only promotes positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle, but also promotes emotional wellbeing amongst our pupils, which is extremely important to us.
We aim to ensure that every child has a positive and enjoyable experience of physical education and that they acquire the knowledge and skills to be able to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and good wellbeing long after school.
Pupil voice is very important to us, therefore we include our pupils in all of the decisions made to continue to improve physical education in our school and achieve the 3 government outcomes with our pupils’ interests at heart.
Through a minimum of 2 hours of PE per week, we ensure that children develop the skills to achieve our 5 outcomes by the end of year 6, which include children being confident, enthusiastic, resilient, respectful and effective team players.
