We celebrated Pancake Day by making pancakes with Mrs Messer. We had a choice of toppings for the pancakes and had some races.
First of all the Science... then using technology we made appliances for our 'Deconstructed Role Play Area' this term. So much fun and learning!
What is the best material for the Gruffalo's Den?
We experimented with lots of different materials.
We used water to see if the material absorbed it.
Then we set to work... Construction Time!
Cling is good because the light goes into the den.
Foil is excellent for the Solar Panels.
We all work together.
Helping one another.
Team work in groups.
All ready for... the technology appliances.
A washing machine, a television and a projector.
A microwave, cooker and oven made by the children.
Can you see our planning and experiment outcome?
We have been learning how to make our own addition number sentences.
We learn with our peers in the 'Deconstructed Role Play Area' developing many of our different skills. First we make a plan of what we are going to design.
I can use my phonemes to write words.
The tall bit on a boat - new vocabulary - a mast.
Following the plan. It is fiddly!
Writing my name on the plan.
Carefully using a hole punch to put string through
Perseverance is finding the start of the sellotape
Working together in small spaces.
Using both hands is tricky.
I am drawing some rectangle bricks on the house.
Look at the King and Queen in their castle.
Helping our friends put the castle roof on.
A roof on a house needs tiles.
Now we are cutting out some windows.
We used glue to stick the windows onto the wall.
Look at us eating our Christmas Dinner together.
Let's look at the vegetables first, mix some colours and then make some repeat printing patterns.
Learning new phonemes is fun!
Find an object.
Say it and match the object to the correct phoneme
Remember to use the correct letter formation.
